The Dingle peninsula is a narrow mountainous finger of land
reaching to Europe's most westerly point. Treks begin in
Anascaul in the centre of the peninsula. You walk through
the mountains to Dingle, a popular and attractive town for
visitors. Continue on an old road west across the slopes
of Mount Eagle, past ancient stone beehive dwellings, to
Slea Head with glorious views of the Blasket Islands.
Day 1 – Travel to Anascaul for
the start of the holiday

Follow quiet lanes and tracks to Lispole via Minard Bay.After
Lispole a little more attention to route finding is required
as you link faint paths and Fields along the base of the
mountains. (21 km, 430 m ascent)

Day 3 – Dingle to Slea Head / Dunquin
Quiet lanes and tracks lead you out of Dingle town before
walking across the sands at Ventry Bay. From Ventry Bay
you follow an old road around the Base of Mount Eagle with
some glorious views out over Dingle Bay. If you prefer you
can shorten the day by following a more direct route to
Ventry along the road. (21 km, 320 m ascent)
